Police release sketch of man who tried abducting girl

Police released a sketch of a man who tried abducting a 9-year-old girl in Fort Lauderdale on Monday afternoon.
The girl was on her way to summer camp at the Boys & Girls Club when a man grabbed her and threw her in to his car, police said. When he tried driving away, the girl got out of the car and ran.
Police described the man as about 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing about 140 to 150 pounds with a thin build and full beard. He was last seen wearing a light blue T-shirt and dark green pants.
Police said he was driving a 2004 or 2005, white, 4-door Chevy Impala.
Since the attempted abduction, police have increased patrols in the area.
