Police searching for gun thief

Thief seen on surveillance camera

LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla. – Police are looking for a man who broke into a truck at a North Lauderdale shopping center at about 5:18 p.m. Friday and stole a handgun.

In a surveillance video, the thief was seen pushing his upper body into the car through shattered glass to steal several items, including the .45-caliber gun.

The man has an athletic build, long dread locks and was wearing a white shirt and white pants at the time of the burglary.

The man was seen driving away in a gray, late model, 4-door Lexus.

Up to $3,000 will be paid out for information that leads to an arrest.
