PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -

Port St. Lucie police officers have a new creative way to catch people not wearing their seat belts.

According to WPBF in West Palm, police are holding up a large sign that reads, "Thank You."

On the bottom of the sign, it says in smaller print: "For wearing your seat belt."

Police say the bottom line is in smaller print so drivers lean in to read it.

Officers then can see whether or not they are wearing a seat belt.

If a driver or passenger is not wearing one, police radio to officers down the street who pull over the driver and issue the $116 ticket.
