Powerball jackpot jumps

South Florida welcomes Mega Millions this week

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – No one won Saturday night's Powerball drawing, meaning the jackpot has jumped again. It now stands at $350 million. At just $2 a ticket, sales are expected to soar, which could cause the jackpot to spike even more.

The biggest payout for Powerball was $587.5 million in 2012, split by two ticket-holders.

The next Powerball drawing is Wednesday night, and it is not the only drawing South Floridians are looking forward to. This week, Florida becomes the 43rd state to play Mega Millions.

The game is very similar to Powerball, and the chances of winning are about the same as well.

The biggest payout for Mega Millions was a $640 million pot, split by three tickets.

The Powerball drawing is every Wednesday and Saturday night during the Local 10 News at 11 p.m. The Mega Millions drawing is held every Tuesday and Friday, also on Local 10 during the 11 p.m. news.
