DORAL, Fla. – A 39-year-old registered sex offender was arrested after he tried to kidnap a 6-year-old girl from a summer camp at a South Florida community center last week, police said.
Miami-Dade police said Dean Beck grabbed the girl's shirt and tried to drag her into the men's restroom at the Jewish Community Center on Southwest 112th Avenue last Thursday.

The girl was able to scream for help and get away, police said.
Beck faces a charge of attempted kidnapping, but police want to know if there may have been other incidents involving him. Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
