Ricardo Jimenez arrested in attempted boat theft

A southwest Florida man has been arrested in connection with an attempted theft of a boat in Islamorada.
Ricardo Jimenez, 48, of Cape Coral, was arrested Tuesday night.
Monroe County Sheriff's Office deputies said they were called to a report of two men in a Jeep trying to steal a boat on a trailer near Abel's Marina.
One man ran off and the other drove away when deputies arrived.
The driver of the Jeep, later identified as Jimenez, pulled off the road and jumped out of the vehicle, running into a wooded area near mile marker 84, deputies said.
Deputies couldn't catch the men, but they later received a call about a suspicious man on the old highway in that area.
That man turned out to be Jimenez, who was taken into custody. He faces charges of fleeing from law enforcement, grand theft, resisting arrest and driving with a suspended license.
