Victims identified in fatal Rickenbacker Causeway crash

3 victims identified as Dayri Montero, 20, Ana Gonzalez, 24, Balvino Soto, 33

MIAMI ā€“ Police have identified three of the victims involved in a fatal crash that took place Monday on the Rickenbacker Causeway.

Police said a man driving a red Chevy convertible, carrying three passengers, was traveling westbound on the causeway around 3:30 p.m. Monday when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a palm tree, cracking the tree in half.

Several good Samaritans got to the the vehicle and were able to pull two of the passengers out of the vehicle within minutes, before the vehicle burst into flames, and the other two shortly later, police said.

Those good Samaritans then rendered aid on the victims until rescue crews arrived.

The four were taken to Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.

Three of those victims have been identified as Dayri Montero, 20, Ana Gonzalez, 24, and Balvino Soto, 33.

The driver, who police said was possibly ejected from the vehicle upon impact, died after arriving to the hospital.

Officials are asking anyone who may have witness the crash to call local law enforcement.
