Roach, rodent activity found at South Florida Little Caesars

MARGATE, Fla. – State records show the Little Caesars on State Road 7 in Margate was ordered shut by a state inspector last week.

The inspector noted eight violations including roach and rodent issues.

Below is a list of some of the violations. The restaurant was allowed to re-open following an ordered clean up and re-inspection.

"Rodent activity present as evidenced by rodent droppings found. 3 dry rodent droppings found on the front counter shelves. 1 dry rodent dropping on the pizza cut prep table bottom shelf."

"Roach activity present as evidenced by live roaches found. Observed 1 live roach on the wall behind the pizza prep table. 2 live on the floor behind the pizza prep table. 2 live on gray crate with sodas. 1 live on the floor by the gray crate. 5 live in the fan of the flip top cooler. 1 live behind the pizza oven. 1 live crawling on the floor between the pizza oven and the wall. 1 live crawling on the floor by the front counter."

"Food employee not using hand antiseptic after washing hands as required by the Alternative Operating Procedure for bare hand contact with ready-to-eat food. No bare hand contact with ready-to-eat food. Manager wash her hands and dried but she did not use hand sanitizer before making pizza's with her bare hands."

"Potentially hazardous (time/temperature control for safety) food cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. Pepperoni 52°-54°."
