Roderick Simmons fatally shot while playing dominoes

Detectives have no motive for shooting

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A Fort Lauderdale man was shot to death Wednesday night while playing dominoes with friends.

The shooting happened in front of Roderick Simmons' house on Northwest 29th Terrace shortly before 11 p.m.

Broward Sheriff's Office detectives said two or three armed men got out of a car that pulled up in front of the house and opened fire as Simmons and his friends were playing dominoes in the driveway.

Simmons was pronounced dead at Broward Health Medical Center.

Bonnie Lockhart, 30, was also shot, but she was expected to survive.

Detectives don't have a motive for the shooting.
