Braving traffic, finding parking and snagging a good deal aren't the only things post-Christmas shoppers need to worry about, police say.
This is a prime time for crooks to take advantage of folks who might be preoccupied by sales and not safety.
"There's a lot of people pushing you and trying to grab onto things," said shopper Stella Posada.
Safety experts say large, open purses are a shopping "don't."
However, plenty of savvy shoppers at Aventura mall said they knew not to be vulnerable.
"Definitely, you can't walk around with a big purse. You have to bring something very small like that," said shopper Shelby Bird, pointing to her small satchel.
