A man accused in the 2012 hit-and-run crash that killed a 13-year-old girl has been found guilty on all charges.
Jurors returned a verdict after about three hours of deliberation Monday afternoon.
Prosecutors claimed Sandor Guillen was intoxicated and speeding through a bus lane when he ran a red light and slammed into the van that Kaely Camacho was riding in with her family.
Camacho's mother cried in court as the verdict was read.
Guillen's attorney argued during the trial that Camacho's father ran the red light and the lead detective in the investigation destroyed crucial evidence.
In the end, jurors didn't believe Guillen's story.
"I hope that this is an example to all of you out there to never get behind the wheel while impaired because you're not just being selfish and could possibly take your own life, but you could take other people's lives like my sister," Camacho's sister told Local 10 after learning the verdict.
Guillen was remanded into custody.
A sentencing date will be set on April 14. Guillen faces more than 30 years in prison when he is sentenced.
