Video shows Sanford police officer interviewing George Zimmerman

Video shown in court on day 6 of the trial

SANFORD, Fla. – The jury in the George Zimmerman trial saw a video of his first interview with police  in the Seminole County courtroom July 1st.

After the fatal shooting Feb. 26, 2012, Zimmerman was taken to the Sanford police station. In an interview with a mirrored glass window, he met with Sanford police officer Doris Singleton.

During the interview, Zimmerman said he was on his way back to his car when Trayvon approached him.

He also said Trayvon punched him and hit his head against the concrete sidewalk. And that when he feared Trayvon would get to his gun, Zimmerman got to it first.
