NORTH MIAMI, Fla. -

A kayaker who was reported missing at Oleta River State Park has been found safe.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission told Local 10 News that Vivian Ellis was found hiding in the mangroves Thursday morning.

Ellis rented a kayak Wednesday afternoon and was supposed to return by sunset. When he didn't return, the U.S. Coast Guard began a search.

Sky 10 was flying above the park when a yellow and red kayak was found with no person on it.

FWC officials and park rangers assisted in the search.
