7 injured in Julia Tuttle Causeway accident

Police and rescue crews are on the scene of a major accident on Julia Tuttle Causeway.

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. -

Police and rescue crews are on the scene of a major accident on Julia Tuttle Causeway.

It's reported that seven passengers were involved in the accident, including a 14-year-old an a 7-year-old.

One witness reported to Local 10 that one car went into Biscayne Bay.

All victims were transported to Ryder Trauma except for the driver, who is at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Officials are recommending those traveling eastbound on Julia Tuttle Causeway to take 79th Street Causeway or Venetian Causeway as traffic is backed up to Miami.

No other details were immediately released.
