Shin Ju Japanese Buffet reopens after being ordered shut

Local 10 viewer sends in photo after finding roach in dessert

DAVIE, Fla. – A South Florida restaurant that was ordered shut after a Local 10 News viewer said she discovered a roach in her dessert has reopened.

State records show inspectors ordered Shin Ju Japanese Buffet closed Tuesday. Records show when the inspector returned Wednesday for a re-inspection, the roach issue still existed.

The restaurant at 3305 S. University Drive in Davie was not allowed to re-open. Late Thursday afternoon, a state inspector returned to the restaurant for a third time in two days and Shin Ju Japanese Buffet passed inspection. The restaurant was then allowed to re-open.
