South Beach Pizzeria ordered shut

A South Beach Pizzeria was ordered shut by Inspectors with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation last week due to a roach issue.

Below are a list of the restaurants ordered shut and some of their violations.

VITTOCCI'S PIZZA

1405 WASHINGTON AVENUE

MIAMI BEACH

14 VIOLATIONS

"Roach activity present as evidenced by live roaches found. 15 , front and back food prep areas, dining area, bathroom. No proof of required state approved employee training provided for any employees."

CHACHA CAFETERIA

1167 WEST 29TH STREET

MIAMI

7 VIOLATIONS

"Roach activity present as evidenced by live roaches found. 10 live roaches in kitchen under prep table. Certified Food Manager or person in charge lacks knowledge of food borne illnesses and symptoms of illness that would prevent an employee from working with food, clean equipment and utensils, and single-service items."

MAYRAS RESTAURANT

10504 WEST FLAGLER STREET

MIAMI

30 VIOLATIONS

"Dead roaches on premises. Located throughout kitchen. Roach activity present as evidenced by live roaches found inside kitchen area, on top of cold units, inside kitchen, by handwash sink, by front coffee machine. Certified Food Manager or person in charge lacks knowledge of food borne illnesses and symptoms of illness that would prevent an employee from working with food, clean equipment and utensils, and single-service items."

KINGS CHEF

476 N.E. 125TH STREET

NORTH MIAMI

39 VIOLATIONS

"Dead rodent present. Dead rodent under the prep table. Next to water heater. Roach activity present as evidenced by live roaches found. 10 plus live roaches in the kitchen under the food prep table. Raw animal food stored over ready-to-eat food. Raw meat over washed vegetables. Certified Food Manager or person in charge lacks knowledge of food borne illnesses and symptoms of illness that would prevent an employee from working with food, clean equipment and utensils, and single-service items."
