Live maggots, roaches found at sushi station

State orders China Buffet in Hialeah, Cantina 27 in Miami Beach closed

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – State records show inspectors found live maggots and roaches at the sushi station at China Buffet on Northwest 67th Avenue last week.

A total of 43 violations were noted.

"Rodent activity present as evidenced by rodent droppings found in storage area, 10-12 fresh droppings, along kitchen walls 20 droppings, (fresh)."

"Raw animal foods not properly separated from one another based upon minimum required cooking temperature in walk-in cooler."

"Identity of food or food product misrepresented. using squid, for general  Tso's chicken."

"Dumpster overflowing garbage."

"Roach activity present as evidenced by live roaches found. Observed 10 lives roaches in glue trap beneath cart by reach in cooler. Observed about 15 plus live roaches inside bags behind ice cream reach in freezer. Observed 15 plus live roaches on the floor behind reach in cooler and freezer. Observed 5 plus live roaches at corner behind chef station. 4 live roaches creeping on the wall by three compartments sink. Observe 2 live roaches beneath small prep table. Observed 7 plus live roaches in glue trap between glue trap Behind cooking equipment. About 6 plus live roaches in glue trap beneath hand sink. Observed about 5 plus live roaches in glue trap beneath pizza oven. Two live roaches in glue trap at exit door leading to garage."

"Garbage or debris on floor under, around, or behind equipment in bar. Dead roaches and trash behind equipment in bar area."

"Dead roaches on premises. Two dead roaches inside drawer at cook line. Observed about 7 big dead roaches in around bar area."

"Potentially hazardous (time/temperature control for safety) food found greater than 47 degrees Fahrenheit but less than 70 degrees Fahrenheit more than six hours. See stop sale. Tomato sauce at 49° in walk in cooler."
