Palm Beach County prosecutors file formal charges against Wesley Brown

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – A 15-year-old boy accused of crashing a stolen car into a sport utility vehicle in Boca Raton, killing a mother of two, has been charged as an adult.

Palm Beach County prosecutors filed formal charges against Wesley Brown in adult court, Local 10 News has learned. He is charged with vehicular homicide, fleeing or attempting to elude a marked police car and driving without a valid license.

Police said the Deerfield Beach teenager and a 20-year-old man robbed a valet attendant at gunpoint Sunday night at The Addison, stealing the keys to a 2016 Ford Mustang.

Shortly before 11:30 p.m., a Boca Raton police officer spotted the stolen Mustang on Northwest Second Avenue, so the officer began to follow it and called for backup. Before officers could initiate a traffic stop, the Mustang sped off and slammed into a silver Honda Pilot that was traveling east on Palmetto Park Road.

The driver of the SUV, identified as Wendy Harris, 46, of Boca Raton, was pronounced dead at the scene. A GoFundMe page for Harris (who is listed as Wendy Aceves) said she was a mother to a 15-year-old girl and 8-year-old boy.

Police said Brown has been arrested six times since January.

A passenger in the stolen car, identified as Jacquan Strowbridge, ran off after the crash and was caught a short time later, police said.
