Teen struck, killed while riding skateboard

Neighbors say they've told driver to slow down before

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A 19-year-old woman was struck and killed by a car Sunday while riding her skateboard in North Miami Beach.

It happened about 4:30 p.m. at Northeast 23rd Avenue and Northeast 137th Street.

The teenager was riding her skateboard on Northeast 23rd Avenue when she was struck by a white Ford sedan that was traveling east on Northeast 137th Street.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators.

Neighbors told Local 10's Ben Kennedy said they know the driver and have told him several times to slow down.

Police later identified the teen as Jacqueline Postrel-Jambor. The driver's name has not been released.
