Texas man arrested in MacArthur Causeway crash that critically injured 2

Police say Isaiah Obryant driving with suspended license

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A Texas man was arrested after causing a crash on the MacArthur Causeway that critically injured two people Thursday.

Isaiah Obryant, 34, of Houston, faces charges of reckless driving causing serious bodily injury and driving with a suspended license.

Miami Beach police said Obryant was traveling more than twice the posted speed limit of 40 mph when his Ford F-150 pickup truck switched lanes and plowed into the back of a white Mazda stopped at a red light.

The impact caused the Mazda to sideswipe a BMW.

Both people in the Mazda were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the BMW was taken to Mount Sinai Medical Center with possible broken ribs.

Police said Obryant's Texas license had multiple suspensions.
