Two people shot, one killed in Opa-locka

Family members say 27-year-old David Boothe was shot, killed

OPA-LOCKA, Fla. – A man said he found his 27-year-old son dead Thursday morning after hearing gunshots outside his home.

Frank Boothe said his son David was sitting in his car in the driveway of their house in the 13200 block of Northwest 30th Avenue when he heard half a dozen gunshots about 2:49 a.m. When he went outside, he found his son's body and said his son's girlfriend was also shot.

"I am sure he was targeted," said Boothe. "I'm just trying to figure out why this happened."

"I see the bullet through his head," added Curtis Smith. "I couldn't take it and went back into the house."

The condition of the woman who was injured wasn't immediately released, nor was a description of the gunman.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crimestoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
