MIAMI – A 91-year-old Miami woman asleep in bed was robbed during a home invasion early Wednesday morning.
It happened shortly before 2 a.m. at a house in the 5500 block of Southwest Fifth Terrace.
Miami police said the woman was thrown to the ground and held down while at least one other man ransacked the house looking for valuables. Among the items stolen was a gold chain snatched from the woman's neck.
Surveillance video from a neighbor's house showed that the intruders were driving a white SUV and white pickup truck hauling a trailer with some sort of machinery on the back.
When the neighbor's dog, Daisy, started barking, the vehicles sped off.
