Woman extricated from car after wrong-way crash

PLANTATION, Fla. ā€“ A 67-year-old woman was hospitalized after driving the wrong way in traffic and slamming into two cars.

The crash occurred Friday morning at the intersection of Broward Boulevard and University Drive in Plantation.

Plantation Fire Department Battalion Chief Joel Gordon said the woman somehow jumped the median at 70th Avenue and started traveling west on Broward Boulevard in the direction of eastbound traffic.

She was extricated from the car and taken to a hospital. Her condition was not immediately known.

The drivers of the other two cars were not injured.
