Woman robbed, killed in North Miami Beach home

Family identifies Guerline Noel as woman killed in robbery

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. Police are searching for two men who robbed and killed a woman inside her own home early Thursday.

The robbery and shooting happened in the 200 block of Northeast 175th Terrace in North Miami Beach about 12:30 a.m.

The woman, identified by family members as 29-year-old Guerline Noel, went outside to her car to get a nursing textbook when the two men approached her, asked for money, and followed her into her house, police said.

"I was watching TV. All of a sudden, I see two guys dressed in black," said Clauvens Cenor, Noel's husband.

The men then pulled out weapons and demanded money, said Cenor.

"I said, 'We don't have anything, so whatever you see inside the house, just take it. Just don't shoot -- don't shoot no one,'" he said. "Both of them point the gun at us and then they pushed us inside the bathroom, which is right there."

Cenor said he, Noel, their 3-year-old son, and his wife's sister stayed in the bathroom. One man watched the door and the other searched the house.

"I opened that back window and then fall down trying to get some help," he said.

After getting out of the house, Cenor ran down the street. Moments later, he heard gunshots that killed his wife.

"I saw my wife laying down on the floor inside the bathroom," he said.

Four bullet holes remained in the door.

"This doesn't appear to be a random crime," said Mike Bollinger with the North Miami Beach Police Department. "There appears to be some design in their selection."

"It's so sad. She's so nice. I can't believe that this happened," said Salvant Guerrier. "All she does is smile when she's around."

"Beautiful human being, very devoted to her child," added Kay Kramer.

Investigators also searched a grassy area (pictured, left) near the entrance ramp to northbound Interstate 95 at Miami Gardens Drive, saying it was related to the armed robbery.

Anyone with information on the robbery and shooting is asked to call the North Miami Beach Police Department at 305-662-7654.
