BSO: Woman run over by truck in Tamarac
A woman has been taken to the hospital after she was run over by a large box truck, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.
The incident happened around 8 p.m. Saturday at 3801 W. Commercial Boulevard in Tamarac.
According to BSO deputies, a woman was walking on the sidewalk in front of the shopping plaza nearby, as a large box truck was preparing to exit the plaza and merge into the westbound traffic of Commercial Boulevard.
The woman stepped into the path of the truck as it was beginning to move and she was ran over, said deputies.
Tamarac Fire Rescue transported the woman as a trauma alert to Broward Health Medical Center. She was said to be critical, but deputies said she is expected to survive.
BSO traffic homicide detectives are investigating.
