HIALEAH, Fla. – A woman was taken to the hospital Sunday after officials say the eaves of two buildings collapsed.
Hialeah Fire Rescue responded to the incident at 151 West 5th Street in Hialeah.
Authorities said several sheets of plywood that made up the soffit came down.
The woman, who sustained a laceration to her head, was transported to the hospital for evaluation, officials said. No other injuries have been reported.
Authorities said the structures were made safe and clear of debris, so no residents were displaced.
The actual cause of the incident has not been determined at this time.
The area that was affected is off-limits to access pending repair.
