Wooten arrived at the Miami International Airport on Thursday.
The 630-pound manatee has spent nearly two years at the Cincinnati Zoo rehabilitating. Wooten was rescued as an orphaned calf from Wooten's Pond near Ochopee in Collier County.
Wooten will be released back into the wild at the Orange River near Fort Myers sometime next year.
Miami-Dade County has reduced the homeless population in the county in the past 20 years from 8,000 to about 1,000, but their fight continues over the best way to help them.
