ORLANDO, Fla. -

A family that alerted authorities about a 5-day-old dolphin calf they found while boating in Central Florida waters was reunited with the animal six months later at SeaWorld Orlando on Tuesday.

The dolphin was found near Three Sisters Island in Volusia County on May 20. The calf was stranded under a mangrove.

During its rehabilitation, the dolphin was treated for lungworms, pneumonia, and other health problems, but no longer requires medication.

Officials at SeaWorld said the dolphin's weight has tripled since being in their care.
