"We've been tested," said Norland coach Carla Harris-Curry. "We've been to New York and played some of the top teams there. We've been to Georgia, played some of the top teams there. We've been tested for this opportunity to represent Norland in the state championship."

Harris-Curry has coached at Miami Norland since 1999. During her tenure, the Lady Vikings have won 13 straight district championships, six regional championships, and state championships in 2009 and 2010.

But the Lady Vikings also lost three times in the state championship..

"A lot of history with Orlando Edgewater. A couple of their state championships have been on our behalf, so we have to play hard and represent," said Harris-Curry. "Every time is special. We can't take anything for granted. There are a lot of teams that would love to be in this situation so we have to make the best of the situation.."
