The Miami Marlins selected two players in the Rule 5 Draft.
The Marlins drafted outfielder Alfredo Silverio from the Los Angeles Dodgers and Braulio Lara from the Tampa Bay Rays.
Silverio, 25, missed the entire 2012 season recovering from Tommy John surgery. He posted a .306 average with 90 runs scored, 42 doubles, 18 triples, 16 home runs and 85 RBI in 132 games with double-A Chattanooga in 2011, earning Southern League All-Star honors.
Lara, 23, was 6-10 with a 5.71 ERA in 25 games, including 21 starts, with single-A Charlotte in the Tampa Bay Rays system. In 93 career minor league games, the Bani, Dominican Republic native has gone 24-30 with a 4.41 ERA.
