Miamian claims 2013 Bracket Challenge title

Danny Diaz wins iPad

Being the big Florida State Seminoles fan that he is, you would think that Danny Diaz de Villegas wouldn't be all that interested in watching this year's NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.

But despite the absence of his beloved 'Noles, Diaz de Villegas is one happy man as the winner of the 2013 Local 10 Bracket Challenge and a brand new iPad.

Using the name "nolemandan," Diaz de Villegas beat out 838 other entries and claimed this year's title. Heading into Monday championship game between Louisville and Michigan, Danny was only tied for the lead. It wasn't until after the Cardinals had won that the first tiebreaker was used to declare Diaz de Villegas the winner.

Having picked Louisville as the tournament's overall winner, Danny ended the contest with 85 points. Diaz de Villegas also had Michigan making the Final Four, but failed to have the Wolverines in the championship game.

Among the 20 entries turned in by Local 10 staff members, Sports Director Will Manso finished with the top score, ranking 19th overall followed by Victor Oquendo (59th), Bob Norman (72nd), Glenna Milberg (87th) and Laurie Jennings (88th).
