MIAMI – Miami Dolphins' defensive end Cameron Wake was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week following the Fins' Sept. 7 win over the New England Patriots.
Wake had three tackles, two sacks, two quarterback hits and recorded two forced fumbles in the Dolphins 33-20 victory over the Patriots in the opening week of the 2014 NFL season.

This is the second time Wake has been named AFC Defensive Player of the Week. He first received the honor in 2013 following his Oct. 31 performance during the Fins' 22-20 overtime victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.
Wake was also honored in 2012 as the AFC Defensive Player of the Month for October.
Wake is the ninth Dolphin player to be named player of the week in the opening week of an NFL season.
