Dan Marino joins lawsuit against NFL

MIAMI – The biggest football name in Miami's history is joining a lawsuit against the National Football League over concussions.

Dan Marino, the Hall of Fame Dolphins quarterback, has filed a lawsuit seeking compensation in the form of "medical monitoring and unspecified financial recovery," according to an L.A. Times report.

The complaint includes 14 other former players, and it accuses the NFL of concealing information and misleading players about football-related brain injuries.

This development comes as thousands of NFL players are already involved in similar lawsuits against the NFL, but few have the Hall of Fame star recognition as the quarterback once nicknamed "Dan the Man."

Marino was roughed up in his 17-year playing career, with 270 sacks.

Local 10 contacted the Miami Dolphins for a comment and they only said they're aware of the pending lawsuit.

Neither Marino nor his lawyer, Ralph Stringer, were available for a comment.
