The Miami Dolphins new million-dollar man, Mike Wallace, may be taking his place in that infamous line.
Instead of joining in the celebration that followed Miami's season-opening victory against the Cleveland Browns, Wallace reportedly pouted about his lack of influence in the outcome.
Despite the team's 272 passing yards, Wallace only accounted for 15 yards on one catch and was not targeted at all in the first half of the game.
According to the Miami Herald, Wallace told a reporter, "I don't feel like talking, man," when asked why he appeared to be upset almost an hour after the game. When asked about the lack of looks his way at the beginning of the game, Wallace replied, "Ask coach. It's not my game plan."
Wallace faced the media on Monday at the Dolphins training facility and said he was happy with the win, but was just disappointed in his own play. Wallace added that he was not trying to rip the coaches and that he spoke with head coach Joe Philbin and the issue is over.
Also on Monday, Dolphins offensive coordinator Mike Sherman reacted to his wide receiver's perceived surliness by saying, ""In no way, shape or form did that bother me. Mike is competitive and I like that."
The Dolphins signed Wallace to a $60 million free agent deal during the offseason in hopes of providing a true deep threat to the offense and quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
Miami returns to the road next week to face the Indianapolis Colts.
