'Doctor Dribble' to run Miami Marathon for charity

Darren Weisman runs marathons while simultaneously dribbling two basketballs

MIAMI – Thousands of runners will take over Downtown Miami, Miami Beach and Coconut Grove for the 12th annual Miami Marathon on Sunday but there's one runner who will stick out in the pack.

Darren Weisman, better known as "Doctor Dribble," runs marathons while simultaneously dribbling two basketballs.

"People always come up to me and ask me what my next race will be because they want to run with me," said Weissmannn.

His first time racing with two basketballs was last year's Miami Marathon and he hasn't stopped since.

In 2013, "Doctor Dribble" completed 21 full and half marathons, even setting the Guiness World Record for fastest marathon dribbling two basketballs.

On Sunday, he's racing and dribbling to raise money for his charity, Doctor Dribble's Helping Hands.

"My goal is to donate as many new basketballs to underprivileged kids or kids who have been through traumatic experiences as possible," Weissman said.

If you'd like to cheer Doctor Dribble on during the race, you'll find his section at the Lululemon Athletica tent at mile 8. He'll start running at 6:15 a.m.
