Jonathan Martin traded to San Francisco

Troubled lineman leaves Dolphins

MIAMI – Jonathan Martin is no longer a member of the Miami Dolphins.

ESPN is reporting that Martin has been traded to San Francisco for a conditional draft pick.

In joining the 49ers, Martin will be reunited with his college head coach Jim Harbaugh.

Martin left the Dolphins after reports of being bullied in the locker room.

His decision to leave set off a national firestorm and investigation into the locker room culture of the Miami Dolphins.

Martin has made it clear that he wanted a fresh start in the NFL.

Martin tweeted, "Big news, beyond blessed."

The Dolphins released a statement Tuesday night.

"The Miami Dolphins have traded offensive tackle Jonathan Martin to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for an undisclosed draft choice. We feel that this move is in the best interests of all parties involved," said Miami Dolphins General Manager Dennis Hickey. "We wish Jonathan well."
