MIAMI -

Jose Fernandez may be one of the best pitchers in baseball and he may be the National League Rookie of the Year.

But Jose Fernandez is also a rookie, which means the Marlins phenom also has to take his fair share of abuse.

On Thursday, Fernandez posted pictures of himself dressed as what looked like a reject from Olivia Newton-John's "Physical" video.

It's a baseball custom that rookies are forced to dress up in wacky outfits as part of the hazing process of the big leagues.

On his Twitter posts, Fernandez posed in his outfit with baseball legend Tony Perez and said, "Rookie dress up day loving it. Part of the game." On another post Fernandez remarked, "Yeah yeah long fly and long night!"

Fernandez created some fireworks on Wednesday night after hitting a home run against the Braves. Atlanta players felt the rookie pitcher showed disrespect by not hustling around the bases and spitting in the direction of Braves third baseman Chris Johnson.

Fernandez, who was pitching in his final game of the season, later apologized for his actions.
