MIAMI – The Miami Marlins are looking for divine intervention to their historically bad season.

The Marlins are hosting what they are calling "Beast Mode for Christ Fellowship Day" at Marlins Park before the team's game with the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday, June 15.

Marlins outfielder Juan Pierre and Team Chaplain Chris Lane will host the religious experience.

According to a team flyer, Pierre and other players will give their testimonials and discuss their devotion to faith and community.

The fellowship events will start at 11:30 p.m. First pitch against the Cardinals is at 4:10 p.m.

The Marlins could use that divine intervention as the team is chasing the 1962 New York Mets for the worst record in modern baseball history.

The Mets were 40-122 in 1962.

The team hurt those chances of breaking that woeful mark by beating the current Mets back-to-back on Saturday and Sunday.

The Marlins are now on pace to win 47 games.
