Miami Marlins Lucas fractures hand, Solano takes his place

Colombian infielder returns to Miami Marlins

Infielder change: Miami Marlins Donovan Solano, left,, of Colombia, will be replacing Ed Lucas who fractured his hand Thursday.

LITTLE HAVANA, Fla. – Miami Marlins infielder Edward Lee  Lucas will begin the season Monday on the disabled list, the Miami Herald reported.

Lucas, 31,  broke his left hand Thursday.

Infielder Donovan Solano, who was Miami's regular second baseman for most of last season, will take his place.

Solano, 26, was born in Barranquilla, Colombia. His brother Jhonatan Solano is a Washington Nationals' catcher. The two brothers are part of the 13 Colombians who have played in Major League Baseball.

Lucas joins second baseman Rafael Furcal, who is in the disabled list due to a sore hamstring.
