But of all the plays during Miami Northwestern and St. Thomas Aquinas' season opener at Sun Life Stadium, just one would shock spectators and spark a slew of posts on social media.

With just 20 seconds left in the second quarter, moments after the snap, St. Thomas' Anthony Moten would grab the face mask of Northwestern's Trevis McKinney, pulling the high school senior to the ground, possibly straining his neck.

As the clock was stopped, medics rushed onto the field. McKinney was taken to the sidelines in a stretcher and then rushed to the hospital.

Northwestern quarterback Jabari Dowling replaced McKinney in Saturday's game.
