According to the NFL Network, the league has fined both Pouncey and linebacker Philip Wheeler after illegal hits during the loss to Tampa Bay.

Pouncey was fined $7,875 for a punch he threw at Bucs defensive lineman Akeem Spence during Miami's first offensive possession of the game. Pouncey was called for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on the play and could have been ejected.

Meanwhile, Wheeler was fined $21,000 for a roughing the passer penalty he picked up in the fourth quarter of the Bucs loss. Wheeler's penalty came on an incomplete pass on 3rd and 6 that would have seen Tampa Bay punt and return the ball to the Dolphins with a chance to tie or win the game. The penalty gave the Bucs a first down and Tampa Bay went on to run another three minutes off the clock.

Meanwhile, Pouncey was not at Dolphins practice on Friday as the team prepares for a Sunday meeting with San Diego. The Miami Herald reports Pouncey was attending a minor medical issue and is not expected to miss Sunday's game.
