Report: Heat to attend Oden workout

Heat among 3 teams invited to private workout session

MIAMI – The Miami Heat's "Big 3" may finally be close to getting a big man.

ESPN.com is reporting that the Heat are one of three teams that have been invited to watch Greg Oden work out in a private session this week.

The New Orleans Pelicans and Sacramento Kings are reportedly the other two clubs that were invited, although ESPN says the Spurs and Mavericks also remain in the hunt to sign the 7-footer.

Oden, the top pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, is attempting a comeback after missing the last 3 seasons due to a multitude of knee injuries.

Heat president Pat Riley hosted Oden on a visit earlier this year, making many believe that Miami was the frontrunner to bring the 25-year-old to South Florida.
