Broward issues cold weather advisory

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -

Broward County issued a cold weather emergency for the weekend as temperatures could reach lows in the 40s.

The cold weather emergency is in effect from:

  • 6:30 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday.
  • 6:30 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday.
  • 6:30 p.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Monday.

Anyone needing a place to stay is asked to report to one of three shelters in Broward County no later than 6:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

  • Pompano Beach City Hall
    100 W. Atlantic Boulevard
    Pickup only
  • The Salvation Army
    1445 W. Broward Boulevard
    Shelter and pickup
  • Broward Outreach Center
    2056 Scott Street
    Shelter

The cold weather emergency may be canceled if the forecast changes.
