Max Mayfield recommends 'Fly on the Wall'

I don’t give many book reviews, but I highly recommend “Fly on the Wall” by Mike Hirsh to anyone who has ever recovered from a hurricane, anyone who ever plans on preparing for a hurricane, or is looking for a fun and entertaining read.

The story is set in Punta Gorda, Florida, during and after Hurricane Charley in 2004. The hurricane is the main villain, but stories of insurance fraud, shootings of insurance adjusters and a possible murder all contribute to a very believable tale that is told through the eyes of a volunteer deputy sheriff and a recovering journalist.

“Fly on the Wall” is a humorous mystery that is technically classified as a work of fiction, but I like the way one Charlotte County Official described the book: “It’s all lies – except for the parts that are true.”
