Miami Humidity vs Oklahoma City Twisters

This year's NBA finals is a weatherman's dream...the Miami Heat and the Oklahoma City Thunder...an all "weather" final!
But do the names really make sense? Think about it. The Oklahoma City Thunder...Thunder is the sound that follows lightning. But, Florida is the lightning capital of the US, not Oklahoma. As a matter of fact Tampa has more lightning strikes per year than any other city hence their NHL hockey team the Tampa Bay Lightning.
And then we have the Miami Heat. Yes it is hot in South Florida but did you know that on average it is actually hotter in the summer in Oklahoma City than Miami. In July Oklahoma City averages 94 degrees in the afternoon, Miami averages 91. The record high temp in Miami for July 100 degrees, Oklahoma City 110.
So maybe the names should be reversed? The Miami Thunder and the Oklahoma City Heat...yeah that one is hard to swallow being Oklahoma City gets pretty darn cold in the winter and year round Miami is actually one of the warmest places in the US with an average annual temperature of roughly 76 degrees, second only to Key West at almost 78 degrees.
So what would be two weather related names that would better fit each city?
Well, statistically Oklahoma City has had more tornado strikes than any other city in the U.S. So it would be appropriate and more accurate to go with Oklahoma City Twisters rather than Thunder.
And Miami, well we have more hurricanes than just about any other place, but we already have "hurricanes" in town at the University of Miami. And while it is hot and we certainly bring the HEAT, it is actually more humid than hot, so how about the Miami Humidity?
Doesn't sound that intimidating right? But remember they always say it's not the heat, but the humidity that will get you!
Regardless...GO HEAT, beat those Twisters...I mean Thunder.
