Another round of storms likely in afternoon

Local 10 News meteorologist Julie Durda says to expect 'rainy repeat'

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Don't put away those umbrellas and rain jackets yet.

Local 10 News meteorologist Julie Durda said Tuesday that South Florida could once again be flirting with record-high temperatures and an increased chance for rain in the afternoon.

Durda said the storms are associated with a stalled front attached to an area of low pressure that is moving across the Gulf of Mexico.

"We'll see highs today in the low 90s before the widespread showers and storms start to develop," Durda said.

Durda said a "rainy repeat" with strong to severe thunderstorms is likely later in the day.

She said there is a medium threat for lightning and the possibility of tornadoes.
