NHC gives system 60 percent chance of development

The NHC says the system is forecast to continue to move NNE and the environment could become a little more conducive for development, and a tropical depression of storm could form before the system moves northeast over northern Florida late Thursday or Thursday night.

As of 2 p.m. Wednesday, the NHC gave the system a 60 percent chance of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours.

Some models are indicating an additional 5 to 7 inches of rain in some localized areas.
