FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Surveillance cameras captured a thief stealing a Mercedes-Benz C300 from a body shop.
The theft happened at Mercedes-Benz Body Shop, 122 SW 22nd Street, on Sept. 25.

The thief walked into the main bay of the body shop and asked an employee for help, police said. The employee directed him to the office, but the thief was seen wandering the parking lot.
The thief then returned to the body shop using a different entrance, grabbed a set of keys lying on the roof of the C300, then took off in the customer's car -- nearly hitting an employee who was working on it.
The 2011 black C300 has Florida tag ALCL37. Police described the thief as about 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds, and having a short haircut.
