SUNRISE, Fla. – The first few weeks of the Florida Panthers 2020-21 season were about as peculiar as they come. The strangeness surrounding the start in Sunrise has been, mostly, due to the unexpected success of the Panthers. AdBut as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. “I feel like we had a great start this season,” Panthers center Alex Wennberg said following Sunday’s 4-1 loss to Detroit. The Panthers have scored just three goals over the past two games after averaging 3.7 goals per game over their first seven.
Broward Center getting ready for return of Broadway touring shows
Now, The Broward Center for the Performing Arts is getting ready to welcome Broadway to town. It’s been awhile since there was a Broadway touring show in South Florida, but Susie Krajsa, president of Broadway Across America, announced the lineup for the season. “We are thrilled to say, and let everyone know, that Broadway will be back starting in November at the Broward Center,” Krajsa said. Dog survives after muzzle taped shut and throat cut
A pup named Dani, found on the side of an Ohio road with her mouth duct-taped shut and her throat cut, is doing well, according to the Butler County Sheriff's Office. She was rushed to a local veterinarian, where a chip on the dog was found to contain information for a shelter in Cincinnati. The Butler County Sheriff's Dog Warden is investigating the case and is asking for help from the community in locating Dani's owner. Meanwhile, the community has come together to not only help find the person responsible, but give Dani a home. I'm sickened by this and would rather give to assist instead of dwelling on the negativity," one person posted on Facebook.
Taylor Swift, co-stars talk about upcoming 'Cats' movie
We'll have to wait until Friday to see the first official trailer for the "Cats" movie, but a new teaser might satisfy fans who are already eager to pounce. The clip features stars Jennifer Hudson, Jason Derulo, Judi Dench, Idris Elba, Taylor Swift and others speaking about what the project means to them. The musical is based on Andrew Lloyd Webber's long-running stage adaption of a work by another famous T.S. The movie version will be released Dec. 20 and comes from the mind of director and co-writer Tom Hooper, who helmed 2012's "Les Misrables." As one could imagine, large-scale sets and elaborate costuming were required to make humans look like cats.
Panthers to host Star Wars night
SUNRISE, Fla. – The force is strong with the Florida Panthers. The Cats are hosting a night inspired by the Star Wars movies. The Panthers host the Maple Leafs on March 29. The Star Wars package will incude a t-shirt, interactive Star Wars photo opportunities, and a limited edition Star Wars Puck.
